London Citizens | London Citizens

As you may be aware, St Mary’s is a member institution of London Citizens (LC); LC are a branch of the national organisation, Citizens UK (CUK).  CUK organises communities to act together for power, social justice and the common good.

LC, in preparation for the upcoming mayoral campaign, have called on the mayoral candidates (Sadiq Khan and Zac Goldsmith) to come to the Coper Box, in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, on Thursday 28th April (6-8:30pm) to face the people of London as we put forward our manifesto seeking, amongst other things, to tackle the housing crisis in London.  The full manifest can be found by clicking here.  More details of CUK and LC can be found by clicking here.  It is important to note that the manifesto has been prepared through hundreds of hours of dialogue and work from members and communities across London.  It has also been carefully constructed to ensure that all of the asks of the future mayor are things that they will have the power to fulfil.

We have pledged to bring 30 people in support of this event and we would love to see you there!  Seating is limited and are allocated via the Eventbrite page – https://2016-assembly.eventbrite.co.uk .  Stephanie Leonard, our LC borough leader writes, ‘To enter the building you will need a ticket.  When you click on the link you must enter the password NLCIT16. This will then allow you to input your details and obtain your ticket.  Congregation members can bring family and friends. A member can put their name into eventbrite and put in their details +4 tickets for example for their family. Not every individual will need to put the names of all their family members, however we encourage everyone to do so, so that we can have their names and numbers just in case.’  If you have any questions or difficulties please be in touch with Rev Timothy (revtimiller@gmail.com).
