Cold Weather Shelter 2017

Year 8 of the shelter is fast approaching! We are always looking for new volunteers to help with the shelter, on either of the shifts:

Monday nights 6pm – 10pm (Setting up and Dinner shift, Dinner included for volunteers)
Over Night 9pm – 7am (Sleeping in church and maintaining security of the building over-night)
Tuesday Morning 7am – 9am (Pack up and breakfast, Breakfast included for volunteers)

There is a range of duties for volunteers to do, being led by a team-leader including making beds, setting up for dinner, food prep, cooking, serving, cleaning up, delivering or collecting laundry. Most importantly we need volunteers to greet and simply socialise with the guests that come.

C4WS is hosting some compulsory training sessions for new volunteers. I will supply details of the training to anyone interested in volunteering.

We will also be hosting a Mental Health Training session on Saturday 7th October for both the regular and new volunteers.

You don’t have to sign up for every shift and anytime you can give is gratefully received. Contact Celyn on 02077223238 or for information.

Shelter Dates: Every Monday starting 13th November – which is, in fact, the first shelter night until Monday 18th December, which will be our final pre-Christmas night, and then January 1st we will start again, finishing on the morning of Tuesday 15th January.
