Coronavirus Update

06.04.2020

Dear friends and members of St Mary's,

I'm delighted that so many of you joined our online worship yesterday, and it was good to see quite a few of you enjoying after-service coffee via Zoom too.
We will continue with this arrangement next week - see below.
Link for yesterdays service incase you missed it.

There are a number of new items on the website - images and videos - so do keep checking. Link here for Lockdown Ideas, Activities .

A fun video for children about how to make an Easter Garden with our new Curate Em Kolltveit.

Here are some wonderful images sent to us from some congregation members, having a go at there own Palm Crosses and placing them on their doors. With such great weather, the lighting was perfect for photos! ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ

Arrangements for Holy Week are as follows:

You are welcome to join in Morning Prayer and Evening Prayer, Monday to Friday, via the link here.

On Maundy Thursday, 9th April, you can follow the link to our service at 8 pm. This will include music, a sermon, the eucharist of the Last Supper, and an hour's Watch before the Altar of Repose.

On Good Friday, 10th April, you can join the St Mark's Regent's Park children's service at 10 am via Zoom if you let me know that you want to receive an invitation - email me at vicar@smvph.org.uk.
At 12 noon you can follow the link to St Mary's Good Friday service, including two addresses, the sung St John's Passion, and music to help us reflect on the cross of Christ.

The Easter Sunday service will be available from early on Sunday morning, so that you can celebrate the Resurrection at dawn if you wish. It will include elements of both the Easter Vigil service (with vigil readings, new fire, blessing of the Paschal candle and first proclamation of the Resurrection) and the celebration of Easter Day with music and a final sermon from Nick, who officially finishes his curacy with us this week.
After-service fellowship from 11.30 to 12.30 will take place via the Zoom link here.

St Mary's continues to offer pastoral care, online services (with tremendous support and hard work from our office team) and a base for food distribution to vulnerable young people. But bookings of the Centre have stopped, our fundraising events (like the Designer Sale and the Summer Lectures) have been cancelled or postponed, and cash collections have ceased. If we are to continue paying our bills and our employees, we need to appeal for extra financial support. If your income has not been affected by the lockdown, would you consider making a special donation at Easter to our parish finances? Please follow the link here. We are hugely grateful for your support.

With prayers as we travel together through this season, though physically apart,

Marjorie, Mark and Nick
